Moxibustion – Moxa

Heat therapy from traditional Chinese medicine

moxibustion is an ancient healing method from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In this form of therapy, certain acupuncture points are treated with heat. This heat is produced by burning dried moxa herb, usually from mugwort.

How does moxibustion work?

Mode of action

  • Thermal effect: The heat penetrates deep into the tissue and relaxes muscles, releases tension and promotes blood circulation.Energy regulation: Stimulation of the acupuncture points harmonizes the Qi flow.Immune strengthening: Moxibustion is said to strengthen the immune system and increase resistance to disease.

In practice, only the moxa cigar is used
