PEP® Process-oriented Embodiment-Focused Psychology

PEP®
Process-oriented Embodiment-Focused Psychology (PEP®) by Dr. Michael Bohne

Feelings consist to a large extent of body perceptions. Therefore, it is only logical to include the body in changes in para-/dysfunctional emotions.

PEP® is the bifocal multisensory intervention techniques (EMDR), Brainspotting, etc.) and the result of the consistent process-oriented further development of knocking techniques (EFT, TFT, etc.).

PEP® - Far more than just a "knock technique"

    The PEP method

    • Today, the PEP method is one of the most effective approaches for post-traumatic stress disorder and trauma, in stress medicine and is used in the therapy of anxiety, phobias, panic states, obsessive-compulsive diseases, depression, persistent mood disorders and coaching. Self-blockage and other problems as well as their physical symptoms and pain can be treated and resolved.

    What is PEP®?

    • PEP® stands for process and empowerment-focused psychology. This means that this method is based on both the conscious and the unconscious processing processes in the brain and integrates the body (embodiment) into the therapy.

    Core principles of PEP®:

    • Connection of Body and Mind: PEP® assumes that the body and mind are closely connected and influence each other. Emotional self-regulation: The goal is to regulate and transform stressful emotions. Resource activation: PEP® activates its own resources and promotes self-healing powers. Solution orientation: The focus is on developing solutions and new perspectives.

    How does PEP® work?

    • PEP® uses a combination of different techniques, including: Knocking: Tapping on certain acupuncture points stimulates the processing of emotions and reduces physical tension. Mindfulness: Attention is focused on the present moment and one’s own body sensations. Visualisation: Images are used to deal with stressful situations and feelings. Language interventions: Positive affirmations and suggestions support the process of change.

    For whom is PEP® suitable?

    • It can be used for a variety of problems: Anxieties and phobias depression stress and burnout trauma relationship problems self-esteem problems

    Benefits of PEP®

    • Rapid effect: PEP® can lead to a significant improvement after only a few sessions. Easy to learn: The techniques are easy to learn and can also be applied in everyday life. High acceptance: PEP® is a client-centred method based on voluntariness and self-efficacy. Various applications: PEP® can be used both as a single therapy and in groups and can be combined well with other forms of therapy.
