HeartMath® is a method for heart rate variability and stress regulation based on research results from the HeartMath Institute. It combines scientifically sound biofeedback procedures with mindfulness, breathing and emotional self-perception.The aim is to harmonize the connection between heart, nervous system and brain and thus strengthen the ability to regulate internally. The focus is on the concept of heart coherence – a state in which heart rhythm, breathing and nervous system are in line. This state has a positive effect on concentration, sleep, immune system and emotional stability.
How HeartMath® works
Through targeted breathing exercises, focus and emotional regulation, the autonomic nervous system is balanced.
The body learns to recognize and change stress responses early on.
Regular practice improves heart rate variability, reduces cortisol levels and strengthens resilience to exercise.
The heart thus becomes the center of conscious self-regulation – noticeable, measurable and trainable.
